Unique treatment journeys in the spa

In his conquests, the Sultan traveled thousands of kilometers in his fleet of ships, sailing between distant islands and the shores of new continents. And in each and every continent, in every magical island and city he sailed to, the Sultan studied the customs of the local people, collected plants, spices and special medicinal mixtures. He concocted ointments and potions, and learned the secrets of the ancient treatments to calm the body and mind, all in order to give his beloved all the pleasures of the world upon his return from his journeys .

The inspiration he received from ancient cultures and traditions gave him the wealth of knowledge that became one complete work of profound life wisdom: how to live a peaceful life, full of pleasure while maintaining physical, mental and spiritual health. The Sultan wandered around the world through the sea and then returned to his kingdom, treasuring all the knowledge he had acquired in his wanderings. The body and mind treatments that are given to our guests originate from the Sultan’s inspirations from traveling around the world. The materials and ingredients we use for treatments are taken from the travel diary the Sultan kept, in which he described the ancient traditions he learned.

The journey to Thailand

“For you, my love, I have collected the finest materials found in its territory: from the rain forests, from the majestic mountains, from the pearly shores, rare animals and plants…”

This treatment originates from the Thai tradition which was used as an ancient healing method. A unique herb compound is used in this treatment- ginger, Asian lemon, lemon grass, turmeric and camphor oil – wrapped in wool balls (herbal ball) which are soaked in hot water. Its infusion allows their virtues to be absorbed by the patient’s body, while pressing and massaging with the herbal ball and using techniques from traditional Thai massage. The treatment with the herbal ball helps to open the pores and cleanse the body of toxins.

The journey to Malaysia

This treatment originates from an ancient Malaysian tradition, that combined the use of heated bamboo sticks with deep and powerful massage techniques for muscles, tendons and ligaments relaxant. According to the ancient tradition in Malaysia, the bamboo symbolizes flexibility, strength, honesty and simplicity.

The use of the bamboo sticks results in rapid blood flow to a large area and maximum release in a short time, and allows the therapists to reach the joining between the tendons and the bones in a more thorough manner. This treatment grants the patient a feeling of release and flexibility.

Ayurveda Sesame

The journey to India

This massage originates in India and is taken from the ancient Indian medicine knowledge theory, which is thousands of years old. Its main goal is to achieve physical, mental and spiritual health and harmony.

The massage is done by gently rubbing sesame oil in caressing movements, and at the close rubbing and instilling oil on the third eye and massaging the scalp and head which help in opening the spiritual chakra that brings the patient to relaxation, peace and complete liberation.

The journey to ancient Rome

At the bathhouse, the bathhouse attendant gives a vigorous massage using a loofah and a glove with olive oil extracted soap, with which he lathers all the body to stimulate blood circulation, to clean and purify the body from dead skin cells. The heat vapors produced by heating the treatment altar, stimulate the body’s metabolism and put the patient in a state of mental calm.

The treatment continues with a massage using foaming soap and aromatic oils while alternately using hot and cold water, and ends with a gentle massage with heated shea butter. The treatment leaves the patient with maximum feelings of serenity, purity and release.

Twina Shiatsu

The journey to China and Japan

First, the treatment is done with Tuina (pull and grab) massage techniques. The technique is mainly based on regular and continuous manipulations on the patient’s body in order to release energy blockages. The treatment method was developed in the West and is now known as Chinese physiotherapy that helps with skeletal system acute problems.

During the massage, the therapist focuses on finger pressures along energy channels in the body. The journey ends with a massage on the patient’s feet to release energy blockages in his body systems.

The magic of Argania

The journey to Morocco

Our journey to Morocco begins in the hammam where the patient will be given an extremely gentle body peeling containing natural orange peels with a combination of argania oil, sesame oil, and almond oil.

The therapist massages the skin gently and with vigorous movements, until the layer of dead cells is removed. The patient then moves to the massage room and receives a gentle body massage using Moroccan oil with argan oil compound.

This massage is essential for the nourishment and care of the skin, and is highly recommended for women after giving birth as it helps treating birthmarks.
