Netanya was once nicknamed the “Capital of Sharon” because of its attractive location between the sea and fields. Netanya has a long and unique coastline that denoted by a cliff that rises tens of meters above the seashore, which turns the walks on the Netanya promenade into countless wonderful viewpoints of the Mediterranean Sea.
Netanya cultivated and established a series of stylish and beautifully maintained promenades – from the south to the north of the city with a total length of 8 kilometers. Netanya’s promenade sequence is the longest in Israel and is even part of the national walking route – “Israel Trail”.
The city`s unique typography consisting of beaches and limestone cliffs has allowed the structure of new promenades and parks with a variety of facilities – artistic and environmental sculptures, which give the essence and qualities to each of the city`s promenades.<\/p>

You are welcome to take off your shoes, walk barefoot, smiling, hand in hand and join us for a journey from one promenade to another.

The Kings Promenade<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Promenade on the Kings Street, south of the helipad. The promenade`s boardwalk in shaded and offers a variety of shops and cafes. This is a wonderful promenade, rich in colorful flowers and meticulous landscaping, located on Melachim Street, south of the airstrip. On the promenade, you will find a neat walking path, play facilities, and shaded spots. The promenade has special access roads prepared to go down to the beach, and joins a strip of promenades from north to south.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This is the northernmost promenade in the section between the “Mini Golf” restaurant and the “Galil” hotel and has seating areas, playgrounds, green lawns and a designated path for cyclists. The promenade is very suitable for families and children, and has a variety of play facilities sculptured as animals and red mushrooms like in fairy tales.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Ma`apilim Promenade<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Culture fonders will love the Ma’apilim Promenade. It is a unique promenade that sanctifies the values of arts and sports. In the center of it stands the “Gallery on the Cliff” – a municipal gallery with exhibitions of Israel’s best artists, as well as other private galleries. You can also find a roller skating rink, play and seating areas on this promenade.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Shaked Promenade<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The ancientest of the Netanya promenades, the Shaked Promenade is connected to the Nitza promenade from its southern side. The promenade`s highlight is the municipal amphitheater on the beach, where it also ends. The amphitheater includes a thousand seats and is built in the form of an acoustic shell made of two wings that clads the large crowd gathered under them. The promenade also has two restaurants, one surrounded by a small lake and a waterfall that dribbles near a picturesque wooden bridge. The other has a pagoda roof that “hangs” on the edge of the cliff and overlooks the sea.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Rishonim Promenade<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Rishonim Promenade is located in the city center and is a natural and open continuation of the pedestrian street. It is 500 meters long and just a few steps away from Sironit Beach and Herzl Beach, where you can get by foot, or by elevator. It has nine spacious pergolas made of wood and stone – each pergola has a different geometric structure and color. The Rishonim Promenade has plenty of cafes and restaurants as well as a children`s playground. In its center, there’s the elevator to the sea, which allows you to get from the view to the beach in just 20 seconds.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Carmel Promenade stretches from the “Stone Flowers” square on Baruch Ram Street to the “City of the Sun” square. This promenade is a relatively short one compared to the other sections of promenades in Netanya. Its magic was created thanks to some wonderful viewpoints to the Mediterranean Sea and a green and natural landscape. The promenade has seating areas where you can sit and pop a bottle of wine in front of the sea.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Dankner Promenade is a small one, 320 meters long, between Rishonim Promenade and Carmel Promenade along Dankner Street. Its official name is “Seafront Promenade”, and it is a flat promenade on the back of the cliff which was built on the western side of Dankner Street. The promenade is spread over 7 dunams and has lovely seating areas, unique coastal plain vegetation, and garden furniture and lighting.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Cliff Promenade<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Cliff Promenade in Netanya, which is 2.7 km long, extends from the Carmel Hotel to the southern end of Netanya, along the cliff that rises above the sea on Sderot Ben Ami Street. The promenade`s lawns wind through the limestone cliff, and isolated sitting areas and spectacular observation points are scattered along it, inviting the traveler to sit for long hours and look out to sea. There is a family playground in the center of the promenade, South of it – you can find paragliding site.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Southern Promenade named after director Claude Lanzman<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Gali Yam Promenade in Netanya is also known as the Southern Promenade after the director Claude Lanzman. It is one and a half kilometers long and is one of the most beautiful promenades in Israel. The environmental sculptures are its magic, made from recycled materials by the interdisciplinary artist Ruslan Sergeev. The sculptures are used for decoration and also as benches, pergolas, and play facilities.
